I'm absolutely speechless. He was a hero of mine, who I first learned about when I was a freshman in college and who later helped shape my views of America and politics. I was fortunate to meet him in spring 2003 at an awards dinner in DC.

I was in Fort Greene, BK the other night to attend a house party when I came upon this little bit of commentary written on staircase of a G train station. Now, I'm all for free speech, but this is plain hateful speech. Dejected, I turned around and went home.

Travelled out to Seattle to see my buddy. Beautiful city. Too bad NO ONE kept me company. I had to tour the city by myself for 4 days.
Then went up to Vancouver. Breathtakingly beautiful city. Also learned how to reverse a car in a parking lot.
